I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I’m a pink girl, I’ve always kind of despised the color. The carnation pink kind of pink (as I sit here in my ~gifted~ pink robe many Christmases ago. It’s so cozy though…)
I have however always been a huge fan of fuschia, coral, and this mix between red and pink…raspberry. I’ve had my Miss Mustard Seed Apron Strings and Tricycle milk paints for a long time, not using the colors too often. I’m always drawn towards blues, greens, gray and black.
I worked on a custom piece not too long ago, a hutch that went into a fun new store in Waunakee called Hero Vintage Co. We chose Tess’s signature color, a pretty teal. After starting on the hutch, I felt it needed a pop of something so I mixed the two colors to make the raspberry color. We fell in love with the combo and I’ve been dreaming of using the color ever since.
Here is the custom hutch:
Recently, the cutest desk found it’s way to me and I could not stop imagining this raspberry color. I was going to paint the whole desk including the top for a super vibrant and modern look, but I always cave when I see refinished wood with the paint and just thought it looked cozier, more approachable, and would fit perfectly in a variety of settings. Plus refinished tops are so durable.
